Last week we surveyed your experience of working with recruiters. Thank you to everyone who participated. For the sake of readability in this post (and so this does not sound like a statistics class), I will simply refer to “survey respondents” as “you.”
Here’s what you said:
- 93 percent of you had more than eight years of full-time work experience – the prime demographic for most recruiters.
- 31 percent of you had not been contacted by a recruiter in the past 30 days, but 69 percent of you had. (21 percent of you had been contacted more than three times in the past 30 days.)
- Only 25 percent of you reported generally positive experiences of working with recruiters, with 75 percent of people reporting either a mix of good and bad experiences, or having generally negative experiences. (Internal corporate recruiters rated only slightly higher than external third party recruiters.) The negative experiences were mostly about unskilled recruiters who were only interested in filling the job, rather than making a great match.
- Despite your skepticism toward recruiters, an astonishing 95 percent of you wanted to be contacted.
