June 10, 3-5 pm - Recruiting Relationships - Building a Pipeline

What’s the most effective "silver bullet" in recruiting? Relationship recruiting. What’s the "holy grail" of recruiting? Pipelining. Top recruiting organizations understand this, but you don’t need to have a large recruiting organization or budget to be effective in relationship recruiting and pipelining. Ben Gotkin will discuss with you how any recruiter can utilize tools and resources that effectively plan for tomorrow’s hiring needs today.

In this program, you will learn:

  • The key distinction between reactive and proactive recruiting, and why taking even basic proactive recruiting steps can make all the difference in future hiring results
  • How CRM is more of a mindset than a technology
  • What high-tech (and low-tech) tools and strategies can help you easily identify candidates for your pipeline.

Ben Gotkin is the National Recruiting Director for RSM McGladrey. In this role since 2006, Ben develops and delivers programs and strategies designed to enhance the firm's overall recruiting efforts. Since Ben has joined the firm, he has led initiatives to re-launch the employee referral program, develop and launch an alumni program, establish new hire and candidate surveys, change national job board providers, train recruiters on writing effective job descriptions and establish a social media recruitment marketing plan. With 15+ years experience in recruiting, Ben has been a leader in promoting the applications of technology in recruiting, advocating collaboration and community building, utilizing metrics to improve performance, providing interviewing training to management and staff, and developing out-of-the-box tactics to identify talent.

This program has been approved for 1.25 hours of recertification credit toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
